FOCUS™ Red-Dot Low-Light Instructor Course (16-hr)– This course is strictly for law enforcement and military personnel.
Welcome to the Next Level of Instructing Tactical Training
When the lights go down, the fight doesn’t stop. The FOCUS™ Low-Light Engagements with Red-Dots Instructor Course is designed for experienced firearms trainers who want to take their instruction to the next level. This course doesn’t just teach you how to shoot in the dark—it certifies you to teach others how to dominate low-light engagements using red-dot optics.
Teaching officers and professionals to fight effectively in reduced visibility requires a specialized approach. This course will equip you with advanced instructional techniques, tactical low-light strategies, and the ability to train others in decision-making under stress. Whether you’re working with law enforcement, military personnel, or armed protection professionals, this course will give you the tools to ensure your students perform when it matters most.
Course Highlights
Teaching the Low-Light Environment: Learn to instruct students on the complexities of low-light engagements, including the physiological effects of darkness, vision adaptation, and light discipline.
Tactical Illumination Training: Master the integration of handheld and weapon-mounted lights with red-dot optics. Teach officers how to identify threats, reduce light splash, spill, or flooding and work in dynamic environments.
Advanced Red-Dot Techniques in Darkness: Dive deep into how red-dot optics perform in low-light scenarios. Learn the proper sight settings, dot brightness adjustments, and how to ensure your students can acquire their dot when every second matters.
Decision-Making Under Stress: Teach students when to engage, when to illuminate, and when to move. Incorporate real-world use-of-force considerations to ensure officers are thinking tactically—not just shooting accurately.
Instructor Development: This course isn’t just about personal proficiency—it’s about becoming an effective instructor. You’ll learn how to develop training programs, evaluate student performance, and troubleshoot common low-light shooting issues.
